A NOTE FROM OUR FOUNDER

 

I am a former professional and international footballer who started coaching at an early age due to my career being cut short through injury. I have coached at numerous levels and at academies, amateur clubs and professional clubs. I left coaching to pursue other endeavours and had a successful career working in the creative industry in different countries around the world. As my own son started to fall in love with the game that had done so much for me, I saw short falls in the system that I believed wouldn’t give him the opportunities I had. The more I looked into the way football was run at youth level, the more I knew it needed to change. I left my career and came back to football. Since returning to football I have had numerous roles in football, my last was at A-League club, Auckland FC. I have a deep passion for youth development as well as ensuring the skills learned through football are transferrable into everyday life.

 

Over the years I have coached numerous players who have gone on to represent NZ and play at the highest levels of the game professionally. High Press is the coming together of years of experience as a player, coach, and parent.

 

High Press focusses on helping young players develop the technical skills required to succeed in the game alongside mindset skills, football IQ and the Physical attributes of the modern game. I believe in bringing together the best in those fields to help young players with their expert knowledge and experience. High Press aims to ensure that there is ample support for parents through education and transparency around pathways and development.

 

We coaching in a number of different ways as we know not every player and their family develops the same way, you can attend one off sessions when it suits you, regular weekly sessions, development camps or even specialised coaching focussed on different elements of the game.

 

Our mission is to make the highest level of coaching available with development at the core of everything we do, we want to make this accessible and take the financial barriers to development away from the game.
