Frequently Asked Questions
Below are some of the popular questions we are asked, if you have another query please contact us via email info@highpressperformance.com
High Press focus on ensuring we offer only the highest quality coaching by the most qualified and experienced coaches. To be able to offer this quality of coaching we need can only work with a limited number of players. We also believe for players to develop they need to be in an elite environment with players of a similar ability and mindset. You can attend trials in order to be selected for this programme.
Players can attend trials at any stage of the term programme. Complete the registration form or contact us and we will offer you a few options of days and times when your child can attend one of our sessions alongside our existing players. There is no fee for attending a trial.
Yes, anyone can attend our regular weekly sessions. The sessions are heavily focussed on helping players develop their technical skills. This means players of all ages and abilities can attend and develop at their own pace and level. You can attend 1 session, buy a 10 concession pass, or sign up for the entire term.
High Press was founded to offer professional standard coaching for players wanting to play at the highest level. Our coaching services are designed to work alongside club football. We recommend players attend High Press to develop their football ability but play their football for a club.
We attend a number of tournaments throughout the year. As we receive offers to take part in tournaments, we will select teams in the appropriate age groups from players who attend High Press.
Yes, of course. We work with girls and boys of all ages and abilities throughout all of our programmes. In time we hope to also offer a female specific programme also.
Yes, this is exactly what High Press was founded for. High Press is for players who have aspirations of playing at the highest level and to achieve this require professional coaching. We recommend you play for your club and attend High Press sessions alongside your club football.
At High Press we have two different kits available. Players selected for our High Performance Programme and APL teams receive a playing kit to be worn during the APL season and in other matches and tournaments. There is also a High Press Training Kit which anyone who attends our programmes is eligible to purchase. This is not compulsary however, while we make every effort to keep the costs of our coaching and kits down, we understand not everyone can afford this so don't make the kit compulsary. You can wear whatever you prefer to our sessions, but suggest it be appropriate for the activity.
We believe international football experiences are an important part of a young players development. We create a schedule of opportunities each year for players to attend tournaments overseas, take part in coaching opportunities and play matches. For 2026 this schedule will be published early in the year and details are available upon request.
We believe it is important for us to always be transparent with regards to your child's development and football journey. High Press is a coaching service designed to elevate players development, we actively try to prepare players for a career in football, but its important for us to also ensure all the players and parents understand the very low ratio of players able to play professionally.
We don't offer to arrange trials for players as part of our service, we don't see this as our role. If a player shows the particular special ability and mindset to be considered by a professional club, we are able to have a discussion with the player and their family and put them in touch with the right people to make this happen. There are a lot of factors that come into play when it comes to this part of a players journey and as a support system for parents and players we believe its important for us to ensure everyone knows how this process works.
We hold 1:1 Sessions at either Cox's Bay Reserve, or Riverhills Park. If there is available time and facilities we can also come to a location closer to you. We're happy to discuss this with you at the time of booking.
Its important to us that no one is excluded from High Press due to financial circumstances. We make every effort to reduce costs where we can, we also offer the option of a payment plan for all our fees. We understand however that not everyone is in a position to afford these fees, if you require assistance please don't hesitate to contact us, we offer scholarships, partial and full for players and their families when required and might even be able to help with other football costs such as club fees, transport, equipment and more.
The APL (Academy Premier League) is a competition that takes place in Terms 1 and 4 each year and is for football academies only. This is a great competition that we support and take part in. The Term 1 2026 season begins February 15 and we will select teams in January to take part in a number of different age groups. If you are interested in playing for High Press in this coming season please contact us to arrange a trial as soon as possible.
